Just read the full interview Roy but thought I would comment here too! Very interesting but I have to ask; favourite Bryson book? I remember my geography teacher introducing my class to him what seems like a million years ago. I read Neither Here Nor There last summer in a couple of days! π

He maintains such a good level it’s difficult to choose. I suppose Notes From a Small Island remains my favourite. Or Down Under. Certainly I’ve learnt far more about the world from him than I ever did in geography lessons π

I will put Notes From a Small Island on my list the next time I go book shopping. Thanks! π

Nice interview. I think Sue is right: you must have tremendous word counts when you do sit down to write! That’s fantastic. If only you had more time! Someday, right?

Thanks Julie. I’m actually not sure I’d take to full-time writing. The fun might go out of it.

Fascinating interview. How did you get from Ireland to Jersey? (I was hoping that might be one of the questions, and her questions were good and not the typical.)

Hi EQ, well it was actually a return to Jersey after a couple of years in Ireland. That was never the plan but it didn’t work out.
