Last weekend saw the 7th running of this endurance event here in Jersey. It’s approximately 48 miles around our coastline, much of it off-road with long stretches of demanding but wonderfully scenic cliff paths.
Many did it solo – hats off to them. Others formed relay teams, such as my teams Jersey Joggers and Jersey Girls Run.
One of those solo runners was Stephen Cousins. He not only completed the course in just over 10 hours but filmed the whole thing. So here is a gorgeously produced 7-minute showcase of what Jersey’s coastline has to offer.
Gosh. Wonder how long it would take to walk it? Because it looks beautiful!

Hey Juliann. Walkable in 12 hours or so if you’re fit and healthy. Maybe you’ll come and do at least a bit of it one day? No better place in the world on a fine day.

Absolutely glorious scenery, Roy. I was looking for you in the crowd, but no luck seeing you – did you see yourself in there anywhere? I don’t know how I would go jogging up and down those steps. And I have to ask – that purple flower on the hillsides – is that an indigenous plant or has it been introduced? We have a similar plant in Australia that was introduced and it kills horses if they eat it. And I have to say – those beaches are magnificent!

Hello Dianne ๐ No I didn’t make the cut. I wasn’t running though but dashing around making sure all our team members were in the right place. Yes our heather is brilliant right now and I haven’t heard of it causing harm. It’s not as if Oz don’t have enough things which kill you ๐ฆ Hope you’re well.

Great film, and beautiful island! Well done to all the runners who took part… looks like they had a perfect day for it. How did he manage to film and run at the same time?

Thanks Ali. Yes, great event in a great place. He had a camera on a stick, but I doubt he filmed for the whole 10+ hours but chose his moments.

Hi Kristine ๐ Yes it’s certainly a great place to live, but there’s a continual battle to balance economic needs and protection of the environment. What that vid doesn’t show is the traffic, which is pretty awful at times.

I hope someone very wise find a way to combine both aspects successfully.

Jersey is beautiful. We visited earlier this year and loved it. The video was lovely and I must say, well done to all those who took part in the endurance event because it is a very demanding run.

Thank you Deeptha & Bhavin ๐ High praise from regular travellers. Those of us that live here are blessed, though not everyone realises it. Yes, the solo run is pretty tough – maybe the first 30 is OK then you’re running on empty. Thanks for your visit and comment.

Looks wonderful, I know it would be a walk in the park for me Roy, not a runner.

I’d do the run just to see the scenic views.

That’s certainly the best – and most exhausting – way to see them. Thanks for your visit.

Absolutely GORGEOUS. Yes, I couldn’t run it, but I like to think I could walk it…if I had a week to do it and some wonderful iced tea every 3 hours and a massage every night. ๐

Indeed Pam, no need to do it all in a day. Maybe our ’30 Bays in 30 Days’ swim challenge might appeal as well?
