Thank you Carrie! Funny how I’m finding that each parish seems to have its own ‘feel’ about it? St Mary seems to me that it just wants to hide away in the background and not push itself forward.
Ah now I bet there’s some great literature set in and around Cleveland Carrie. But certainly within our 9 x 5 island there are so many points of intrigue, maybe because one has to look at the small details rather than the big horizons. Maybe 45 square miles of Ohio wouldn’t yield as much material? Or maybe it would.
Thank you for putting this together, Roy. It was beautiful. Wow! The windmill…it’s magnificent. There’s something about windmills and lighthouses…love them!
Hello Jill and thank you! Yes the windmill was obviously a working mill at one time, then it became a popular bar/restaurant. Now it’s a jewellery workshop but with a restaurant/coffee shop newly attached which is great for the local parishioners who otherwise only have the pub nearby.
Roy, thanks for the jaunty ride.
It’s 24 years this month since we first visited Jersey on honeymoon. La Mare Vineyard is definitely among the places I find most peaceful in the whole world.
Thank you Jean – 24 years! La Mare has bucked the trend of disappearing attractions by diversifying its product range and catering for weddings and the like. We all miss the Butterfly Farm which used to be nearby – perhaps you remember that?
I just love the way you put these together, Roy (and the music is great!) 😀

Hello Dianne and thank you! A bit late for August that one but I’m loving doing the series. St Ouen next which I’m looking forward to.

They’re all great settings for novels. Much more cozy and unique than my neck of the woods near Cleveland, Ohio. 😉

Thanks Britt, yes that windmill is a bit of a landmark in those parts. I do like the backing music on this, ‘Hitchcock Railway’, a Joe Cocker number.
