I LOVED this, Roy! I’ve been waiting for you to post another slideshow. You know, sometimes its nice to just kick back and look at photos and not read. The music is wonderful too. Excellent!
I never thought of that, but you’re right Jill. Sometimes it gets to be a slog reading lots of stuff online. It’s a bit of fun being creative in a different sort of way.
Hi Kath, and thank you! Jersey is beautiful though the St Helier shots may have been selective. You didn’t want to see power stations, incinerators, social housing etc. I guess π And no, it’s very compact. I only had to do a second visit to smarten up some poor photography.
Hi Britt! True, we have a pretty clean and tidy town. You wouldn’t think so at 4am on a Sunday morning but the cleaning teams kick ass. Can’t say I’ve ever appreciated the lawns – a fresh eye and all that π
Doesn’t look like any other English town to me Roy. It seems that there’s something of the Victorian coastal resort about it, but then something continental too. Lots of interesting and beautiful scenes, thanks for sharing them.
Hi Andrea. Good, I think so too. Of course our original influences were French, our forebears spoke their own version of French and it is still the official legal language (though fading out in practice). It was the English who played the major role in developing the town throughout the 19c so, yes, there is definitely a mixture of influences. Regrettably the holiday crowds disappeared in the 80s with the coming of cheap packages to the Med and elsewhere.
Another great slide show. Fun music choice, too!

Thank you Carrie. Many don’t open their eyes and appreciate the character that St Helier possesses.

Thank you Cybele. It’s interesting trying to portray Jersey those who don’t necessarily know a lot about us.
