I thought you might like this Cybele. Ali must spend hours researching her subjects and presents the reader with the results in an entertaining manner but inviting each to draw their own conclusions. This is the best piece about St Patrick that I’ve read.
This is all so very interesting. I never actually think of St. Patrick as religious at all. Probably because I’m not Catholic, and because I just equate him with celebrating my Irish heritage and for getting rid of all the snakes. I never really believed he did so, but see there’s so much more to that story anyway. Fascinating stuff!

And sure he banished the snakes 🙂 I’m horrified at what St Patrick’s Day (Paddy’s Day now it seems) has become, especially in his home country.
