On the Cork side of the border, Dunmurry House settled down for another night, caring not if the weather was fine or foul. It had lived through every extreme many times over, and had survived passably well. It was of sturdy construction and from time to time someone would come along and make repairs and improvements. For instance, modern plumbing and wiring had given it a new lease of life over the years. Then there was insulation, damp proof courses, cement pointing and weatherproofing. It was a fortunate property.
