It’s been many a long year since I’ve owned a camera. My last Jersey Joggers Couch to 5k group were kind enough to present me with an Amazon voucher with which I’ve invested in a Canon Powershot A3500IS.

Thank you Jenny. Some people just have a gift with a camera, an eye for a shot. Many of these I follow and enjoy their work. The best I can do I think is stick to local shots without any pretensions. Enjoy your long break!

Hi Jane – yes it is beautiful with surprises to be found around every corner. I feel sorry for those that choose not to see them. As for snow we had our share last March thank you (though the long-term forecast is for a harsh winter).

Roy, I’m thrilled you’ve invested in a camera and just looking at these pics makes me yearn to go back to Jersey. I’ve just been putting a sprig of holly on a lovely photo we have in our sitting-room of a huge wave at Corbiere Lighthouse and earlier this morning I tripped over a pic of son and me painting at Jersey pottery. That one you have of St. Brelade makes me positively ‘homesick’ if you can be that for a place that you love, but which isn’t home. By the way, it’s not about the quality of the pics, for me, but the choices that a person makes from those they have taken. So please keep posting a few to satisfy my craving ’til I get back there!

Ah, someone after my own heart. Yes, great craftsmanship but I’m sorry to say that damage to old roadside walls is, more and more, being left unattended. Yet again it is usually money that talks, sigh.

Thanks Julie, a bit bumpy on the seas around here right now. As to the camera I’ll only be using it occasionally I think – I prefer looking at more accomplished work by other people, yourself included.
