Temps passé it was a great achievement if one or two Jersey athletes qualified for this annual event, the highest-class age-group track & field competition in England.  (The AAAs are of slightly lower standard as you don’t get some of the hugely talented sportsmen that are expected to compete for their school.)  Nowadays though we expect to come away with medals and this weekend was extraordinary with Katherine Rothwell (gold) and Zane & Shadine Duquemin (silvers) all performing to their usual high standard.  Of course I’m particularly proud of Kath & Shadine who I worked with when they were younger.

I understand that the six other Jersey athletes performed with great credit though not threatening the podium.
