No last minute hitches and, by my hate-flying standards, a pleasant spin over to Cork in fine weather.  Terrific view of the city (particularly the latter stages of Monday’s race along the Mardyke and by City Hall) as we crossed over the Lee estuary and circled down to land.

I’m staying with Deirdre and, after a bit of carboloading with curry and brown rice we had a most pleasant little walk out Monkstown way.  The old and fascinating houses along the shoreline look replete with history while Spike Island lies out in the river now abandoned by the Irish army and is earmarked as a heritage centre once someone finds some money.

Up early tomorrow to help Jo Fearon out at the ‘King of Pana’ wake-up race in town.
